Artist Valentyna Leonenko (b.1994) is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and originally is from Kyiv, Ukraine. She primarily works in oil. Using her highly-skilled and refined technique to create playful, humorous and yet sophisticated scenes. Inviting the viewer to the beautiful world, full of joy, escapism and nostalgia.
Her works balance fairytale and aesthetic, her expressive characters, with personalities and stories, live their best lives in iconic landscapes, alpine destinations and idyllic sceneries. Where happiness, love, friendship and adventures are central themes. And of course enjoying life.
The bright, yet harmonious colour palette, glossy surfaces, expressive brushstrokes and carefully composed scenes, rich in charming details draw the viewer in and offer a sense of warmth and delight.
Painting has always been an essential part of Valentyna’s life. As a child and teenager, she attended art school, focusing on academic painting and book illustration. In her adult years, she has returned to her lifelong passion and is now happy to share her fairytale vision with art lovers through her work.
